Shining a Light on Spiritual Wellness!

Public Newsletter of Seek Together, LLC.

Hi Reader,

Yes! The Seek Together public newsletter has a new name and snazzy logo! Despite this, I plan on delivering to you the same great content. So on with this month's issue....

When creating the digital collage above about serving yourself and others, I was looking through some stock photos with the keyword "self-care." You will not believe the number of skincare products and large glasses of red wine I came across! Is that truly serving yourself? Then I tried searching with the term "self-love" and I came across the smiling guy at the gym giving himself a high-five in the mirror after completing a workout. That, to me is a great representation of serving yourself.

Serving yourself means taking actions that protect and support your wellness in the long-term, even if it is challenging or uncomfortable.

Examples of Serving Yourself

  • Getting enough sleep
  • Eating nutritious food
  • Drinking enough water
  • Moving your body regularly
  • Enacting rituals
  • Setting and maintaining healthy boundaries
  • Getting creative
  • Engaging in hobbies that feel like play
  • Spending time with supportive beings
  • Going to therapy
  • Asking for help

Most spiritual people I meet understand the importance of service. It is a very common spiritual practice, after all. However, many throw themselves into serving others at the detriment of themselves. You too, are deserving of care. You too, are worthy of help. In fact, the more that you serve yourself, the more capacity you have to serve others.

"When you take time to replenish your spirit, it allows you to serve others from the overflow. You cannot serve from an empty vessel."

Eleanor Brownn

Remember that serving yourself doesn't have to be doing, doing, doing all the time. It can also look like asking for help. It can also look like letting go or walking away. It can also look like adjusting your goals to be more realistic. It can also look like saying "No," to serving someone else.

As we move into the second half of 2025, I invite you to focus on the spiritual practice of service this month, starting with yourself.

This Month's Theme: πŸ–οΈ Serve Yourself & Others

The aspect of the SEEKER Method that members of the Seek Together community will explore this month is Serve Yourself and Others. Through responding to the daily reflection questions, participating in the Theme Thursdays group coaching, and reflecting with their spiritual siblings they will do a deep dive into this topic. You can dip your toe in by answering the following questions:

  • In what ways did I serve myself this past week?
  • In what ways did I serve others this past week?
  • What barriers do I have to serving myself?
  • What barriers do I have to serving others?
  • What most helps me to serve myself?
  • What most helps me to serve others?
  • What is one needed service for myself that I want to do?
  • What is one needed service for others that I want to do?

Blessings on your exploration of this month's theme and on your path!
